HERE’S WHAT’S HAPPENING
Meadow Creek (6305 W. 6th Ave – 303-232-6272) is now open 3 days a week – what a great way to enjoy the game – no wind, rain or snow but that great outdoor court feeling. Play Sundays 5 – 8 pm, Tuesdays 10 am – 1 pm and Wednesdays 7 am – 10am. Be sure to chat a little with Graham while you are there since he will be moving to Ireland before too long!!!
Want some some fun indoor pickleball in a bubble?? South Suburban Parks and recreation is hosting pickleball socials at the Littleton Tennis Bubble now through April. there are 6 courts open from 7 – 10 pm on Saturdays (no social on Nov 16th), cost is $8 per person.
Bring your own paddles and balls. Courts will be leveled for play and the Centennial Grill restaurant is on-site to provide food and drink!! Sounds like party time!!!
Parker Racquet Club also offers indoor play on outdoor court surfaces in their new facility – drop in times this Sunday is 9 am – 12pm – check with Diane Reichler for more drop in info for next week and to be on their mailing list –firstname.lastname@example.orgGoing in the opposite direction – Power 2 Play Sports – 5699 Crooked Stick Drive in Windsor continues to provide lots of opportunity for drop in and league play on 12 courts -M-F 8:30 – 2pm, cost is only $3 – contact Jean Marsh if you have questions 310-717-0225.
Golden Rec Center is adding some more hours for drop in play – check out Mon, Wed and Fri 7 – 9 am, Tues 3 -5 and Thurs 2 – 4 . Golden is also in the process of providing lighted outdoor courts – not sure when they will be ready or the exact location (tennis courts by the library) but give them a call if you are interested in playing on those sunny, warm days that will surely find us again – 303-384-8122 – thanks to Bob Stokes and Carol Stilwell for all their efforts!!!!

New outdoor lighted courts will be built in Bear Valley and plan to open late Summer, early Fall 2020 – this is great that Denver Parks and Recreation is providing courts in that part of the district – not many outdoor courts available around that area.
South Suburban Rec will offer a beginning (1.0 -2.5) Boot Camp on Wednesdays @ Lone Tree starting Nov 6th – 27th – 2 – 4 pm – Contact Ryan to register – 303-483-7035
Check out the Pickleball for Parkinson’s drop in at St Charles Rec Center on the first and second Tuesdays – 12 – 2:00 – please let anyone that might benefit from this know that they are most welcome to join in – we will teach them to play or they can just come and play!!! AND check out Simplified Pickleball for folks with memory issues every Tuesday 1:00 – 3:00 at Whitlock Rec – caregivers must attend with the player for Simplified Pickleball.
Wheat Ridge Rec will have a free beginners clinic on Nov. 22 – 12 – 2:30 – there is a limit on the numbers of participants so please register early to reserve a spot – 303-231-1300.Wheat Ridge is also ready to go with a Winter doubles league – info at the same number above.Beginner’s free clinic every Friday at 3:00 at Whitlock Rec Center – just show up! Bring a friend or two !!Congrats to all the players in the Team Challenge event in Steamboat – players from Utah, Florida, Seattle and Boston flew in to join 15 teams on the 23 courts at the tennis center. Each person played between 21 – 30 games during the Challenge !!!Another big shout out to all players who participated in the Huntsman Senior Games in St. George, UT last week. HEAT UP THE KITCHEN INDOOR TOURNEY at Wasson High School in Colorado Springs – Nov 16 & 17th skill levels 3.0, 3.5, 4.0 and 4.5+ – round robin format on 9 courts – register – email@example.com or call 719-360-9447. Cost is $35 per person with proceeds going to the Achieve Online school at Wasson – registration has been open for awhile so call right away if interested.
3RD ANNUAL TURKEY BALL SHOOTOUT ON NOVEMBER 29 & 30. Orlie Carpio and crew are back at it at the Highland Meadows Tennis Center in Windsor on 8 beautiful outdoor surface courts under the bubble. 12 team limit per skill division 5.0 – 3.5 – men’s and women’s doubles – $45 per person, round robin format, minimum of five games with seeding into a single elim bracket.
