Membership and Franchisee Recruitment – American Pickleball Association believes that pickleball is a lifetime endeavour and the benefits of health, recreation, and competition should be available to everyone. APA will strive to expand it’s membership and franchise footprint in order to share these benefits with as many players and supporters as possible.
Membership and Franchise Support – American Pickleball Association values its members and franchisees and will provide the best possible service and operational support at all levels.
Promotion of the Sport – In order to sustain a strong player base American Pickleball Association will promote the benefits of participation through mass marketing efforts.

Founder & CEO
Sam played in football, basketball and baseball during his journey through high school and played varsity baseball at the Colorado State University, including a tryout for the Pittsburgh Pirates major league team. He played semi-pro baseball during his college years. His love for sports continued through his professional life.
Sam received his undergraduate degree from the University of Colorado in 1962 and his law degree from Stanford University in 1965. He served as Attorney for the Ministry of Agriculture, Lesotho Africa, under a Ford Foundation Fellowship and later served as an Honorary Consul for that Country. Sam served as Assistant Attorney General for the State of Colorado from 1966 through 1971.
In 1971 Brown founded Brown and Associates Ltd., a Commercial Real Estate and Investment firm, in Denver, Colorado.
Sam Brown and Associates has organized and managed over 55 joint ventures, Limited Liability Companies and partnerships involving some $190 million in assets including shopping centers, Shoppettes, office buildings, warehouses, apartment buildings, and land subdivisions.
From 1988 through 2006, Brown was involved in the Factory Outlet Industry. In 1988 Brown and Associates brought the first Factory Outlets to Colorado, the Silverthorne Factory Stores. Brown planned and developed the Dillon Factory Stores in Dillon Colorado. Brown and Associates currently manages 380,000 square feet of commercial real estate with approximately 105 tenants.

In recent years, Sam played in many tennis tournaments and leagues then switched from tennis to pickleball five years ago. He has taught pickleball clinics, played in numerous pickleball tournaments and pickleball leagues. He is the Founder and CEO of The American Pickleball Association and creator of the world’s first pickleball franchising system.
